From petrol and LPG to toothpaste and fireworks, there are more than 100,000 hazardous substances in common use in the home, at work and in public places.
Unfortunately, most residential and commercial hazardous waste ends up dumped illegally at landfills. Landfills do not have the proper facilities to deal with toxic substances and thus there is a risk of this waste leaching into the environment. For some classes of hazardous waste there are limited facilities to treat, recycle or dispose of them in New Zealand. HazWaste exclusively has the facility, licensing and appropriate accreditation to securely manage these goods until they can be transported offshore for incineration.
